ABOUT
Matthew Dunne earned a BFA from the University of Michigan in Graphic Design and Illustration, and a minor in Art History. After college, he worked as a Graphic Designer and Art Director for Polo Ralph Lauren, Project, Inc., and Avon Products.
In 2009, he attended Parsons The New School for Design earning an AAS degree in Fashion Design. While at Parsons, Matthew interned in the design departments of Isaac Mizrahi, J. Mendel, The Row and Carolina Herrera.
Upon graduating from Parsons, Matthew was a Design Consultant at Michael Kors in the accessories department. Matthew then became an Associate Apparel & Product Designer at Burch Creative Capital/C. Wonder designing across all categories including branding, marketing, home, jewelry, accessories and apparel.
In 2012, Matthew launched his own contemporary womenswear label, Oak73. At Oak73, he served as CEO and oversaw every aspect such as fundraising, branding, design, sourcing, production, marketing, sales, digital and distribution. Matthew simultaneously worked as a Design Consultant for companies such as Premiere Living Products and DIA & Co.
In 2017, Matthew returned to Michael Kors first as a Design Consultant in women’s accessories, and then founded the Graphics Department. As the first Graphics Design Director, he built and managed a team to create original prints, graphics, embellishments, and color stories for all women’s accessories businesses. After three years, Matthew then founded the Concept Design Department overseeing a team of designers to set the creative direction and key messages for all women’s accessories.
Currently Matthew has returned to Design Consulting working primarily for interior designer Jeffrey Alan Marks as a contract Design Director. Additionally, he works on textiles and packaging for Ross in their home and beauty categories.
